SONG LIST

Rocketfox have been taking time out to work on some more new songs. We have been recording them acoustically so keep your eyes peeled on Myspace as they will be available for a few days to download! We have also booked a few unplugged shows in May so check out the gig guide!

It was Fat Sam's with The Subways last night in Dundee!

Immense! Totally sold out 400 capacity! We were on at an initially alarming 7.45 but the place was already stowed with mental kids going crazy for a sexual piece of the Fox! Gary did stand on some hot girl's arm within the first couple of minutes of Moomin...why was she leaning on the front railing anyway!?! (more importantly why was Gary standing on the railing in the first couple of minutes of the first song? Maybe he was never the centre of attention at school and is making up for it now...)

So we had them eating out of the palms of our hands within the first couple of songs by chantering some almost un-PC banter relating to the fact that it was an over 14s show. We love those. Safe and Sound was as usual a deal breaker and on a very rare occasion A Song For Abi made an appearance as (even rarer, possibly a first...) our big finale...

Can't wait till tonight at The Garage! It's going to be a night to remember.

Today's gig at the Wizard Fest turned out to be amazing. Regardless of the weather campers dragged themselves out their scratchers for an early morning wake up call, courtesy of Rocketfox!

A last minute gig has been added to Rocketfox’s schedule!  We were asked by Amplefuselage promotions to step in at Òran Mór tomorrow, Saturday 18th, to play along with two great bands Oswald and Elmo.  Can’t wait!

Last night’s gig in Edinburgh’s Jam house was brilliant!  We played fourth on a five band bill among some really popular local Edinburgh bands which was a good move!  Jim Gellatly from XFM did a DJ set in between each band so all in all it was a great night for the fox!

This week ROCKETFOX spent 3 days down in Leeds recording three new tunes including; Moomin, Jealousy and Tired of Dreaming with Will Jackson, producer of the Kaiser Chiefs, Embrace and the Pigeon Detective’s!  Thanks very much to Andy and his wife Jane and their massive poodle Chester for putting us up for the three days!  We also managed to get a gig in Knaresborough the local town we were staying in on the Thursday night which was great fun!

Look forward to the Wizard Festival at the village of New Deer near Peterhead at the end of August. A good line up of bands including; Hayseed Dixie, Sandi Thom and the Undertones.

A fine gig at the ABC2 last night, with our best turn out yet.  The night was run by D-rive Records a vibrant new Scottish company who have just signed Irish rising star from X-factor.  On the strength of our performance we have been invited back to perform on Wednesday 22nd of August supporting Tabby at the official launch of D-rive records again at the ABC2.

Watch out for our upcoming Glasgow show at the ABC2 on Wednesday August 1st.  Tix are a fiver.  Gonna be the biggest Rocketfox show so far.  This gig is a showcase event and has special significance for us so please come and support us so that we can show some expected special guests how asses are rocked, Rocketfox style!!!!

Last night's Not In The Park show was one of our favourite gigs ever! Cheers to everyone who came down.  It was a really good atmosphere.  We played a slightly different set than usual:

We had intended to play Song For Abi and Without You acoustically but the night was pumping so hard we just decided to rock out all the way!   Great fun!  Catch ye later x

Yesterday a small piece appeared in the Time Out supplement with respect to 'Not in the Park' at Firewater.

After a short holiday break, last night's gig in Harrogate... ...was awesome! About 250 folk packed in the brand new Alexandra! We played a 45 min set which was something like this... Truth Or Dare, Hang Up, Safe and Sound, Moomin (untitled), Thump, Start All Over, Tired Of Dreaming, and Revenge.

The crowd were great fun even though we were warned (by our mentor of Rok - Zakk Taylor of Kid Ego) that they might be a tough one! Thanks of course to D'Nile for having us!

Stay tuned for a forthcoming Glasgow Barfly show with the aforementioned D'Nile, in the meantime, get yourselves down to Firewater on July 7th where Rocketfox will be playing their first Glasgow gig in quite a few weeks - headlining Not In The Park!

Rocketfox returned to Perth tonight to play at Perth College’s end of year summer show!  The event consisted of a number of musical acts and nominations for different awards.  Rocketfox opened the 2nd half of the night with an energy-fuelled 20min set that left the audience stunned!  Thanks again to Helen Roger for inviting us to play at the event, it was a pleasure!  Hope to see some of you at the Twa Tams on Sat 9th June!

Tonight’s gig was a spontaneous gig for Rocketfox.  Gary, Fiona and Neil were out at the Admiral  bar in Glasgow to see local bands Lost’n’motion and Suspire when they were asked to step in because a band from Edinburgh who were supposed to play didn’t turn up.  The trio didn’t have any of their own gear with them but were able to pull off a great show regardless! Gary was actually able to cope without his straight mic stand for once believe it or not!  The set consisted of requests shouted out by the audience and the song ‘bombshell’ (a crowd favourite) included Elaine (bassist from Lost’n’motion) being invited up to sing in the last chorus!  All in all, an awesome night!  Thanks to Lost’n’motion and Suspire for having us play!

Last night’s gig at the Retreat in Perth was a great one!  Rocketfox played with local funk band Retrospective and among the audience was the Magic Numbers!!!!  They had popped into the venue for a wee drink after their gig at the Perth Concert hall that night!  Got some photographs with them and we made sure they left with a few Rocketfox CDs!! Its all about the networking innit!

Rocketfox appeared in the daily record today!!!

Rocketfox have teamed up with ABF Management and Rock Revolution Ltd.  Rocketfox look forward to supporting the label’s main band form York ‘Kid Ego’ on their opening gig of their ‘Hotter than Hell’ tour on 1st June in Newcastle’s 1000 capacity rock venue Legends!

Last night’s gig at King Tuts went down a storm to a packed enthusiastic and energetic crowd!  It’s been some time since the Fox have played this venue so it was great to be back!  Among the audience were a few big labels as well as Beverley Lyon’s from the daily record!

The band has busy these last few weeks writing new material. Tomorrow's show at King Tut's promises to be a good night with a large crowd expected.

Great night yesterday supporting OLA at Barfly; a good crowd and a great reception from them.

Sadly today's gigs in Preston and Sheffield have fallen through. Due to some mix-up between promoter and the band, we didn't find out until the last moment information that rendered our travel plans useless. This meant that we couldn't perform as planned at Preston and consequently meant that playing only Sheffield would be uneconomical for us.  So; sorry to Dave Sharp, the other bands, to the Sheffield venue and to anyone who had been looking forward to our performance.  We hate to let anyone down, particularly at such short notice and are very annoyed that this has happened.  We don't believe this to be the band's fault and will be taking action to ensure that this doesn't happen again.

Last night's gig went really well at King Room At The Top - Bathgate.  Nice big stage to rock out on and an enthusiastic audience!  Thanks to Idiot Cut who played with us.  You put on an awesome show!
 

Crow Bar Paisley - Great show, great sound and great audience!  Watch out for another gig here soon where we'll be playing with Glasgow-based band 'The Ivans'!

King Tuts rescheduled for 11th May. London (Move on Up) gig on 20th of this month was cancelled on us, so sadly we will need to pull out of the Guilford (Star Inn) one the night before.

Something else being lined up for the 22nd closer to home.

Digital download starting to take shape. Although Napster and HMV showing on www.emubands.com only Tunetribe seems to show our two EPs.

The next day, the Fox were on their way to nearby Wakefield.  We checked into a local travel lodge in Oldham and explored the ghost town!  Asked where the local town centre was and we were directed to a small parade of about three shops.  Two of which were bakeries!  This didn't bother us too much as we had worked up quite an appetite on the 2 1/2 mile hike there!  The Snooty Fox was a great venue to play.  Great sound guy and lighting system!  Cheers to Malc for recording the whole show on DVD for us!

The next gig was the Dry Bar in Manchester.  This gig was a bit disappointing as none of the other bands and their fans had the decency to stick around to catch our set (what's with that!) apart from the band 'Yr Impossible'.  Cheers guys, you played a great set. We had fun regardless.

Our last show was a good one, headlining the Cavern in Liverpool along with support from Glasgow band Darkwater.  Thanks to the sound engineer Frankie who was top notch!
 

Just heard from King Tuts that the main act on the 22nd of April has pulled out and that the night has been cancelled.  It will be rescheduled so keep a lookout for the new date.

Firewater DJ Set last night - Cheers to Frazer Thompson from XFM for having us gatecrash his DJ set at Glasgow's famous Firewater club. All three members of Rocketfox were invited to spin our favourite tunes on the wheels of steel. Amongst the choices were Rage Against the Machine, Phil Collins, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Pearl Jam, Gemma Hayes and Michael Jackson. Great fun. Not long till we get our own slot on XFM.  .....  Move over Jim...

The Clyde Bar was a really enjoyable venue yesterday evening. Great sound, great engineers. Shame it wasn't busy, especially for the band Page 44 who are up from Birmingham just now. Great set from those guys. Not really much else to say about a gig where there were more band members in the room than audience members.

Yesterday it was the Space Place and that was the first night of our tour. It took an age to find the venue. Left after the church? ....  After going left after about three churches we realised it should have been a right after the first one! ...  Anyway we got to the oddly shaped venue with plenty of time to spare. By this time however, Gary was gasping for a beer and food. Little did he know the only food supplied was the fish you caught yourself from the sea (which was a mere stone's throw from the stage!) Oh ... and the venue did not have a bar... because it was an over 14s show!  Ah well every cloud... silver lining etc...

After nearly a fortnight off, we decided to treat this as a warm up gig, but as it happened the place was full of crazy kids who had more crazy hair than Mr Crazy on crazy hair day with a special reason to be crazy! They were gagging for the show.  The excellent Hell Johnny from Perth opened the show with a ripping set of AudioSlave / Jimmy Eat World in your face mathematically stumping tunes with more 17/3 time signatures than Mozart collaborating with Biffy Clyro.

Next up was 13:13 - the local punkers. Promising stuff from a band with plenty energy.  After a couple of technical hitches, Rocketfox proceeded to whip the kids into a line-dancing, countdown-arm-twirling-thingy frenzy! Maybe they'll learn to mosh by the next time we play there.. Thanks to the Space Place for having us we'll definitely be back at some point in the summer.

The well awaited and anticipated Rocketfox Ep Launch Party in Rockers went down an absolute storm!  Thank you to all the bands who supported us on the night and to the loyal fans who came and rocked out with us!    One of the best night's ever! Couldn't have wished for a better send off before we hit England on the EPIC "Start All Over" Tour!  Cheers everyone!

The Start All Over EP, is available from Avalanche and Fopp in Glasgow today.  Second appearance at Teviot Underground in Edinburgh Uni booked for March 1st.

Rocketfox's returned to Heriot Watt union last night!  Absolutely amazing gig.   Awesome atmosphere and second to none sound from the  Engineers in the Union.  Our favourite venue to play to date! Thanks to all the enthusiastic fans who co-operated with Gary when told to sit down on the floor towards the end of 'Revenge'!  Best audience yet!

Second night in a row in Edinburgh, this time our debut performance at Teviot Underground at the University. It went very well and we will be back there in March.

Another good evening in Edinburgh at Whistle Binkies last night.  Not a big audience but very cosmopolitan and appreciative.  The new EPs are now pressed and ready for Friday.

Next week is Rocketfox week on XFM radio. Listen out for Rocketfox in the XFM studio next week on the Jim Gellatly  show every night from 10p.m. till 1 a.m. 

Finally finished our 3 track EP which will go on sale very soon. (we'll let you know where ASAP) We are also in the process of recording a couple of acoustic tracks.

Started the year well last night with a great wee night at Box on Sauchiehall Street. A packed house and a great atmosphere.

A couple of gig changes to mention; 15th February is now Heriot Watt Uni. in Edinburgh and not Dexter's in Dundee. Aberdeen on 19th February and Sunderland on April 17th to be rescheduled.

Mixing continuing on our forthcoming EP and everything looks on target to get it finished by the end of the month.

We will not be appearing at Barfly on Sunday 7th as planned. Our EP production is taking a bit longer than expected and is now being scheduled to mid-February.

Last night's performance at Rockers was a most enjoyable end of year finale. Happy New Year to our friends, fans and family pets.

What a great XFM weekend for the Fox starting with a sell-out performance to competition winners; Martin and wife in Fraser's living room plus a few other cheerful peeps!

Sunday was a larger affair in the Classic Grand XFM Christmas Party hosted by Jim Gellatly  and we shared the billing with Wee See Sophie and Esperanza.

Gigs at Capitol (Glasgow) and Crystals (East Kilbride) cancelled for reasons out with our control.

Today was a very busy and productive day for the Fox.  We recorded the drums, bass and guitar parts for our 3 track EP to be released on January 7th 2007.  In the evening we played our favourite Rockers gig yet supporting Spear of Destiny!  Big thanks to our large very appreciative audience!
 

Thursday's gig at Slaintje has been cancelled due to Rocketfox being offered the chance to headline Paisley Union.  We have an unlimited guest list so anyone interested please email your name to James@rocketfox.net.

Last night's gig in The Greenside Hotel in Fife with great pals Dundee band Non-Zero was a nice pleasant surprise!  Cool 'pit' for a stage and nice high drum riser for Neil to rock out on and be seen more by the audience for a change!  Thanks to the crowd for getting involved! Nice dancing!
 

Didn't end up playing Subway in Edinburgh last night.  Got all the way through to find the gig had fallen through (long story!) but we managed to secure a last minute slot at good old Whistle Binkies just down the road to a very appreciative audience - so all turned out for the best!

Sunday night's gig at Mad Hatters in Inverness went down really well. This was the first Inverness gig for Rocketfox and we were supporting Frank Turner to raise money for the Clic Sargent Charity.  As a result we have been offered another Inverness gig in the venue 'Down Town USA' early April.

The East Kilbride 'Crystals' gig cancelled by the venue at short notice - out-with our control! The one in December there may also be unlikely now.

Fitted in another gig last Wednesday at 'Bar Bloc'. Tomorrow night's event at 'Nice n Sleazy' will not happen now, but we are in Glasgow at 'The Hold' the night after (Monday).

Well, we have reached the end of our Rocketfox 'Launch pad' mini-tour. It's all gone mostly to plan and we have met some other great bands along the way, namely;  Sixstarhotel from Ireland and non-zero from Dundee.

Some rearranging of dates and venues on the gigs page, plus quite a number of new ones added, taking in new towns; Dunfermline, East Kilbride, Inverness & Prestwick.  Check out the list to avoid disappointment.

The gig at Drummonds in Aberdeen that was to be held on Monday 16th has unfortunately been cancelled at short notice. Reason not totally clear to us.  The provisional booking at Opium in Edinburgh on 24th will also not happen now. However, last night we fitted in another last minute performance, this time at Rockers

What a fantastic evening we had last night at Heriot Watt University. A huge appreciative audience and a great sound system. Watch this note for an update with more detail. 

Our second gig in Dumfries last night with local band Reginald, went down well. This was the first night of selling Rocketfox merchandise and a number of T-shirts were sold.

Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh on Thursday October 12th promises to be one of our biggest gigs to date. We will be playing along side The Hedrons who have recently signed to EMI.

Last night's gig at McChuill's marked the 1st anniversary of Rocketfox!! It was here that Rocketfox played their first gig back on 22nd September 2005!!   Thanks to our special guests who supported us - Roscoe & Antoin and Lost'n'motion!  Also a big hand to Gordon who has shown us his continued support over the year!  Respect to our dedicated fans who came along! An awesome night was had by all!!

Rocketfox unplugged!   We participated by doing a short busking set as part of the XFM 'going Underground Festival' held in St Enoch's square! Earned just enough for lunch and to pay off the parking meter so we shouldn't complain!

Last minute show arranged at Capitol tomorrow night! Following on from our session through the day in McCormick's music shop.

Pharaoh's in Coatbridge cancelled (September 15th) due to the venue closing down.

Gig at Twa Tams in Perth on 9th September, will not take place, rescheduled November 3rd.

Last night we entertained lots of adoring EMO kids at the ABC2 who flocked to the stage to pick up free CD's.  Thanks also to our loyal groupies who keep on coming - you know who you are!

Have been asked back to the Snow Bar (xscape) at Braehead on September 8th.

Another busy week headlining at Barfly along with a spontaneous gig at Whistle Binkies in Edinburgh which was well attended and appreciated by our expanding fanbase.

Kicked back with our first gig to a full house, after a few weeks, off at Brunswick Cellars with support from Roscoe and lost n motion.

At this weeks show at the 13th Note our loyal fans were treated to a few new songs, namely; "Wherever I Am", "Have You Ever" and "Still Not Happy".  Thanks to Gill for taking plenty photos which we will have up on the site soon.

Make a note in your diary for our debut at King Tuts in August. We have been trying to nail that one for some time and now we've done it.

Unscheduled gig this Saturday at Barrowlands2. One of the planned bands pulled out and no doubt based on our recent appearance we were a prime choice to fill the breach.

At our next gig at the 13th Note, we will be playing alongside; Gdansk, The Arguments and The Incendiary Bats.

First of all cheers to everyone who came along to our Barrowlands 2 show last night. Its was actually our favourite show yet! Great fun, great bands, great beer, great times!

Of course some of you might have noticed that Mr Colin was not behind the tubs. Here's the low-down...

Colin is a music teacher in Edinburgh and works long hours, on top of which he is the drummer for another quite successful rock band called Phantom Riffage, based in Perth, meaning he isn't always available for sound checks, photo shoots and general band communal merriment. Having said that, for the past few months he did a great job of juggling work and the two constantly gigging bands, however it was just getting to the point where we all had to decide what to do about the situation. In the end we came to agree that Mr Colin would be better off sticking with his job and doing what he does best in Phantom Riffage in a bid to not spread himself too thinly.

This was the perfect time for such a change as little over a week ago, Fiona and I, through a friend of a friend of a friend style meeting, were introduced to Neil MacDougall from good ol' Kirkintilloch. As if fate had led us together, he was looking (nay, gagging) to be in a constantly gigging band of any kind! So with Colin's departure, we saw fit to give our new found friend Neil a copy of all 13 RocketFox tunes on CD for him to have a bash at... and have a bash at them he did! Such a bash was it that he arrived at the first rehearsal on Monday a mere two days after receiving the CD, and flew through the set with us as if we had been playing together for years. So impressed were we that we instantly asked him to play the two shows we had this weekend at Friday's Braehead and of course last night's Barrowlands 2 show.

If anyone reading this message was at either of these shows, you'll know exactly why Neil MacDougall is now the new third member of RocketFox.

Made our first appearance at the Snow Bar (xscape) Braehead last night. It was a venue with a difference, but good fun all the same. Thanks to the management and staff for making us so welcome.

Dominik Diamond's band have pulled out of next week's gig, but don't let that put you off attending. It's for a good cause - Shelter.

We have also just been given the chance to support Dominik Diamond's (from XFM) band at Rockers on Thursday 22nd!  Our biggest gig yet!

Fraser from XFM radio came to see our O'Neill's gig last night and we were featured in the Evening Times 'TimesOut' Magazine local band spotlight section on the Thursday! (18/05/06).  Colin is in the picture too! click it so see the three of us.

These past two weeks have been pretty busy for the Fox!  More dates have been put in the diary including a few Perth gigs, one of which is at our old college's end of year summer show which should be great fun! Check our gig list for the other gigs!

Our gig at Mcchuill's last Thursday night went really well!  We will never get tired of playing here!  Thanks to Gordon who keeps asking us back.  Thanks also to those loyal fans who came out in the thunder and lightening to see us!  Great fun :-)
 

Last week we finished mixing our 4-track EP named 'Launchpad' Three new songs; Truth or Dare, Don't Kiss Me Goodbye and Bombshell, will be accompanied by old favourite; Safe And Sound

We are scheduled to appear in the 'Times Out' supplement in May, so keep an eye out for it.

The gig on 20th April at Glasgow University QMU has had to be cancelled. However, we do hope to sort out a new date.

Yesterday we completed the recording of four of our songs in Edinburgh for the forthcoming EP.  All that needs to be done now is the final mix.

Last night in Dundee at the Westport Bar went exceptionally well to a packed house.  The performance was recorded too!

The Viper was an intimate gig with excellent sound quality - it went really well and everyone seemed to enjoy it

This week has been a busy week for the Fox!  We had our first recording session for the new EP on Thursday at Split level studios in Edinburgh.  Managed to get all drum and bass tracks down with spare time to record a fourth song too!

Played Fury's on Friday and got another recording of our set which was cool.  Sunday's gig at the Cathouse was amazing! Has to be one of our best gigs so far.  Thanks very much to Lal who filmed the whole performance.  Can't wait to see it!

If anyone is free this Wed 29th March we are playing at the Viper (the West End) so get your sexy booties down there!

We passed the audition for battle of the bands. Thanks to those loyal fans who came along to support us in Coatbridge. We'll keep you posted on the next stages when we know more.

We have booked time in the studio for the end of March/beginning of April to record our new 3 track EP. The three songs included on it will be:

Another two gigs in the pipeline. Auditioning for Battle of the Bands at Coatbridge on Sunday 5th March. Anyone who can manage along to cheer us on will be greatly appreciated.

We are returning to VOX (The Vale), so if you missed us first time round be sure to catch us on Monday April 10th.

Two gigs in one week!  Thanks a lot to Lalita Augustine for asking us to play at the Vale on Tuesday night for Clydebank College's fundraising event.  Had an absolutely awesome time. We were also asked at the last minute to play The Cathouse on Thursday which turned out to be our best gig so far. Managed to get some pretty cool pics taken too so check out the gallery!

Hey guys.  Another gig has been added to our gig list.  We are playing a Kingsonic Stepping Stone gig on Sunday 26th March! Those interested, contact us for a ticket!
 

Are Rocketfox one of the best currently unsigned live acts on the scene at the moment? Daniel Wylie on the Neontetra Records forum seems to think so. What do you think, let us know?

Another gig at Fury's has been booked for Friday 24th March. We are also currently working on new material and are hopeful that we will record our best three songs soon!

Change of plans, the gig at McChuill's on February 9th has been moved a week to 16th.

Last night our performance at McChuill's went down a treat to a very appreciative and large audience.  More photos and a video were taken, so keep a lookout for some of that material on the site soon!

Needless to say we have been invited back to the venue again on February 9th.

Great news, Rocketfox will still be playing on Wednesday December 7th in Glasgow. However the venue is now McChuill's and the entry is FREE!

Doors open at 8pm and we are on at 9pm.

Shock!, Horror!, Freefaller have pulled out of their UK tour which includes the Barfly gig on December 7th. Consequently the venue has decided to cancel the whole evening. Refunds will be available from your point of purchase.

After only two months of rehearsals, Rocketfox played their first ever live show at classy Glasgow venue Mcchuill's on Thursday 22nd September! Despite the shows purpose being to subtly ease the band into playing on stage as a group, the occasion was very well attended with many people up dancing after the first couple of songs. As a result, another show at the venue has been booked for Thursday November 10th. All interested should definitely pop in to see what all the fuss is about to be about!
